Offered for sale is an exceptional Fiat 500 Mare, expertly crafted on the basis of a Fiat 500 Giardiniera. This charming beach car perfectly combines Italian lifestyle with exclusive design, making it a true eye-catcher—whether cruising along the Côte d'Azur, on the island of Sylt, or displayed as the highlight of a distinguished classic car collection.

Power comes from the original 479 cc air-cooled twin-cylinder engine, producing 16.5 horsepower, paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. Suspension consists of a leaf spring front axle and coil springs at the rear, providing a surprisingly comfortable ride. Braking is handled by drum brakes on all four wheels, while the 1,840 mm wheelbase contributes to the Giardiniera's characteristic stability and additional interior space.

During the 1960s, the Fiat Jolly became the ultimate leisure vehicle of the international jet set. While Ferraris and Maseratis remained in the garage, celebrities, yacht owners, and discerning holidaymakers arrived at the world's most exclusive resorts behind the wheel of these charming open-air beach cars. Designed by Ghia, with their distinctive open bodywork, lightweight soft top, and unmistakable Mediterranean character, the Jolly models quickly became icons of La Dolce Vita and effortless luxury.

Approximately twenty years ago, Carrozzeria Holiday—today known as Vernagallo Stile—revived this legendary concept by transforming classic Fiat 500s into the exclusive Fiat 500 Mare. Produced in very limited numbers, these handcrafted vehicles continue to be delivered primarily to luxury resorts and a select clientele seeking something truly unique.

The example offered here was built on the desirable Fiat 500 Giardiniera platform and has undergone a comprehensive restoration. The objective was to create a technically reliable and visually stunning leisure vehicle while preserving the unmistakable charm of the original design. According to the previous owner, only around ten examples were reportedly constructed using the rare Giardiniera estate as a donor vehicle. Thanks to its longer wheelbase and significantly larger luggage compartment, this Mare offers considerably more practicality than the standard versions—making it ideal for beach equipment, picnic baskets, or relaxed weekend excursions.

Presented in excellent overall condition, this Fiat impresses with its elegant and tastefully selected colour combination, perfectly complementing its distinctive character.
