The 300 b Cabriolet D offered here is in beautiful condition. According to the data card, the Adenauer was delivered to the Martin Braun company in Hanover (Germany) in April 1954. The car remained in Germany during its life, in 1976 the current owner acquired it. According to him, there were probably two other owners before that.
Between 1976 and 1978, it was extensively restored; in addition to the interior, the body and technology were also overhauled at that time and replaced where necessary. Since then, any work that needed to be done was always done directly and regular maintenance was carried out.
The vehicle was also equipped with the engine of a 300 S (W 188), this ensures a good acceleration under all circumstances.
In 2016, the 300 b received a new paint in pine green metallic (862), this harmonizes very well with the interior in cognac.
The Type 300 was the first model after the war, which was produced by Daimler as a representative vehicle. Among the first prominent politicians to be chauffeured in what was then the largest and fastest production car of German manufacture, was Konrad Adenauer - which is how the name "Adenauer-Mercedes" became naturalized. Other politicians who used a 300 as their official car were Theodor Heuss and Ludwig Erhard.
The 300 b was the first revision of the 186 series, receiving a brake booster ("Bremshelf") and increased engine power. It also now had front pop-out windows and chrome-plated protective fittings on the rear fenders.
